the lime-kiln
at Grand Cap (le four à chaux, to the right of the lane of "
L'eau-forte ")
The sight of
the waves breaking against the jagged rocks is even more impressive
and spectacular the days when the swell is stronger. Strange
sculptures of animals or faces stand out between the sky and
the sea.
Each break creates its very own fireworks display of white spray
and foam wich froth in the air before landing on the rocks below.
The filaos trees sway in the wind and the sea spray moistens
the faces of passers-bay. Only the old cheminey of the ancient
lime-kiln appears to be sheltered from these energetic waters
! On days such as these you will never see fishermen stnding
on the cliffs. You will witness only the beauty and the force
of the ocean an feel intoxicated by its power !
