The spot
This is the
place to come if you want to meet some real bodyboarders. The " Spot
" is found half way along the promenade.
A few years ago a handful of young people met up here every week end
under the shade of a hut of which was covered in palm tree leaves
(the famous red or Bourbon latanier palm to be exact). It is here
where they courageously defied the waves and gave the name " secret
spot " to the meeting place which was illustrated on a little wooden
plaque beside the cabin.
Now at any time of the day you can expect to see numerous poeple gathered
here, xatcing the sea before braving the waves.The " secret spot "
is no longer a secret ! The come from all over the island to confront
the celebrate "gauche".
The young poeple arrive on their scooters and met up in front of a
old (abandonné) house to discuss the temperament of the sea before
setting foot in the water with their boards.
